OMAR Cask Strength Single Malt Whiskey – “In the Garden, Sipping Joy” Series
Dr. Ye Guoshin Collaborates with Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation and the National Museum of History to Launch a Limited Edition 200-Set High-End Flagship Artist Series Whiskey
Dr. Ye Guoshin, founder of the Mo Hai Lou International Art Research Institute and a renowned art connoisseur, began his whiskey journey while studying in the UK. In Scotland, he discovered his passion for whiskey, tasting with enthusiasts and searching for rare bottles at auctions. He particularly appreciates whiskeys with rich historical significance and complex flavors. As the Chair of the Taiwan Selection Committee for the SPEY Whiskey/Prince Charles Art Scholarship, he promotes young Taiwanese artists by showcasing their works on whiskey labels.
Dr. Ye introduced the “In the Garden, Sipping Joy” Series, a limited-edition release supported by Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation and the National Museum of History. This series features the classic works of Master Zhang Yü, particularly Lotus and Potted Plant, as whiskey labels. Zhang Yü’s paintings have set record prices at auctions, garnering significant attention in the art world, and many products quickly obtained digital image licensing for his work.
Additionally, the 92-year-old pioneering Taiwanese artist Professor Chen Yinhui unveiled his work Sunflowers, along with his disciple Professor Su Xianfa’s Sakura Dance. These works symbolize themes of the continuation of life and transformation. In the post-pandemic era, Taiwan looks forward to revival and prosperity, hoping to usher in a vibrant new generation.
Dr. Ye emphasized the aesthetic philosophy of selecting master artists with innovative styles rooted in Taiwan. These artists, including the well-known Zhang Yü and post-war figures such as Chen Yinhui and Su Xianfa, have made critical contributions to the development of modern Taiwanese art.
