Mo Hai Lou, established in 2010 by Dr. Ye Guo-Shin in London, UK, specializes in art appraisal while actively promoting a range of academic and art-related initiatives.
This encompasses research on the authentication of ancient and modern calligraphy and paintings, art connoisseurship education, academic publishing, art investment, and exhibition curation. The organization also hosts regular lectures, exhibitions, and international cross-strait academic exchanges. Additionally, it administers the UK SPEY/KFSTA (King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts) Scholarship in Taiwan.
Showcasing Asian Artists Through Curatorial Endeavors
Since its establishment, Mo Hai Lou has been dedicated to promoting and showcasing the works of prominent Asian artists through exhibitions.

In 2024, Mo Hai Lou’s art exhibition Sublimation at Asian Art in London 2024 highlights the transformation of traditional Chinese aesthetics into contemporary expressions, showcasing masterpieces that blend historical depth with modern artistic innovation.
In 2023, Mo Hai Lou curated Chiang Ming-Shyan’s 80-year retrospective exhibition “The Great Way is Gateless” at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts.
In 2019, they organized the “Art Connoisseurship Exhibition” at the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, which attracted over 600,000 visitors.
That same year, they collaborated with the Japan Festival Culture Association on “Dancing Ink – Matsuri (Japanese Festival) by Fu Yiyao” at Tokyo Metropolitan Theater, and curated the “Artistic Transmission – Art Exhibition of Fu Baoshi & Fu Yiyao” at National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Taipei.
In 2017, they curated “Yao Qing Ji Yuan”, the first solo exhibition in Taiwan for Japan-based artist Fu Yiyao.

Advancing the Art Publishing Industry
Mo Hai Lou has also been actively involved in advancing the art publishing industry. In 2018, it published the monograph Mo Hai Chun Qiu—Collection and Connoisseurship Research into Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, focusing on the appraisal of ancient and modern calligraphy and painting. Since then, Mo Hai Lou has released several exhibition catalogues, including Artistic Transmission (2019), Traversing Rivers and Mountains (2021), Brilliant Ink (2022), Metamorphosis (2023), The Great Way is Gateless (2023), and Sublimation (2024)

Championing Art Education and Social Impact
Mo Hai Lou is deeply committed to supporting art education and nurturing the next generation of artistic talent in Taiwan. In addition to providing scholarships and financial aid to students in rural areas, Mo Hai Lou established and sponsors the prestigious “Mo Hai Lou Art Award” bursaries for outstanding students at Taiwan’s two leading art institutions: National Taiwan Normal University and National Taiwan University of Arts.
Beyond education, Mo Hai Lou strives to make a meaningful impact on society. It regularly participates in charity sales and donates a portion of its annual proceeds to charitable causes, extending support to those in need within the local community.
