Dr. Ye Guo-Shin, Taiwan’s esteemed art authentication expert known for verifying the authenticity of works by cultural giants such as Hu Shih and Zhang Daqian, officially announced the release of his new book today. The event was graced by his mentors, close friends, and distinguished guests from political, business, and artistic circles across Taiwan, Hong Kong, and mainland China.

Onstage, Dr. Ye demonstrated techniques for distinguishing authentic paintings and calligraphy from forgeries, alongside his mentor. The book launch drew nearly 200 attendees, creating a lively atmosphere. Among the notable guests was Fu Yiyao, the daughter of modern Chinese painting master Fu Baoshi and a renowned artist based in Japan.

Fu Yiyao expressed her admiration for Dr. Ye’s meticulous and precise authentication techniques, noting the unique depth of emotion in his work. Dr. Ye, in turn, credited his mentor, Dr. Henry C. Lee, for guiding him in the scientific and systematic aspects of authentication.

Dr. Ye also revealed that he once encountered a forgery syndicate that invited him for coffee after he exposed their counterfeits. They were intrigued by his scientific and logical authentication techniques. Dr. Henry Lee emphasized that integrating scientific analysis with traditional authentication methods allows experts to achieve the same results through different approaches.
